Here are some super quick instructions on how I dye the words I'm going to put on my canvases. The reason I do this is because I started out solely using vintage books to write little poems or saying on my art. I still use them occasionally but sometimes it's just way more practical to type out exactly what I want and then dye it so that it still has that vintage look.
Step 1: Type out your quote, poem, verse etc.
Step 2: Make a pot of coffee. (I use leftovers from breakfast or I re-brew the old grounds from breakfast)
Step 3: Place your paper in a cookie sheet and pour the coffee on top.
Step 4: Wait. I let mine sit about 20 minutes or so depending on how deep of a shade I want.
Step 5: Take your paper out of the coffee and place it on a paper towel or hang it out to dry.
For really fast drying you can blow dry it.
The End.
